International Observe The Moon Night 2018

Well what an evening at Goring Gap on the 20th October.... it was such a hit and we all really enjoyed it. The weather actually behaved itself and gave us a pretty glorious view of the night skies over the sea. Our members provided 16 telescopes on the night and from 7pm onward we were flat out busy with visitors wanting to see the sights. Although it was a Moon related event there was also Saturn, Mars and Uranus to look at and of course some deep sky objects such as the Andromeda Galaxy and Pleiades open star cluster in all of their glory. We estimate that in excess of 300 members of the public attended, and they all seemed to walk away happy with what they saw. Awesome, amazing and What the Flip were just some of the comments I heard at the club scope. A massive thanks to all of our members that took part and of course a great big thank you for all those that came along for a look. See you all next year.
