This October sees the return of the International Observe the Moon weekend. Worthing Astronomers will be celebrating everything Moon related and we may even throw a couple of planets into the mix.

International Observe the Moon Night is a time to come together with fellow Moon enthusiasts and curious people worldwide. Everyone on Earth is invited to learn about lunar science and exploration, take part in celestial observations and honour cultural and personal connections to the Moon.

We at Worthing Astronomers will be setting up on Worthing promenade to allow members of the public to take a look at the Moon through our telescopes.

We will also be able to take a look at two of our most impressive planets, Jupiter and Saturn with its captivating rings.

We will also be showing a rolling presentation of Moon photos and videos projected onto a screen. (Subject to weather conditions)

Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

If the weather is cloudy we will still be there so come down if you want to chat about astronomy, only high winds or rain will stop us from holding the event.
