Great partial solar Eclipse June 10th

Last Thursday we had our first group event since the Pandemic started, with the easing of lockdown we were able to get out and observe the Solar eclipse from the UK. Down here on the south coast we were able to see the moon obscure 20% of the solar disc and view some great detail around the lunar rim as it was in silhouette against the backdrop of the Sun.

It was a great turn out and there was plenty a selection of scopes and methods for observing the event. We also caught the attention of many passers by that had no idea that this was even happening in the sky above them.

Images from the day

Plenty of great shots were captured by our members and even a great eclipse selfie by Paul Ibbitson.

A massive thanks to all those that attended and well done for all the great images and views you shared.
